Catholics of African Descent
in the Diocese of San Jose
The Catholics of African Descent in the Diocese of San Jose (CADDSJ) serve as advisors and liaisons to the Bishop on matters related to Catholics of African Descent within the Diocese of San Jose. CADDSJ helps ensure representation, communication, and engagement between diocesan leadership and parish communities of African descent.
Catholics of African Descent include African Americans, Afro Latin Americans, Caribbeans, and individuals from diverse African nations who are part of parishes across the Diocese of San Jose.

Answer Our Lord’s call to proclaim the good news
Our mission is to answer God’s call to proclaim the good news, worship, engage, and evangelize the CAD community as fully integrated members in the Catholic faith here in the Diocese of San Jose. We strive also to unite with all the Catholics in the Diocese of San Jose through our common faith, shared hope, and mutual charity.
